Coastal Challenge Walk 2011

On Monday 2nd May over 200 walkers set out to complete the first ever 26 miles Coastal Challenge Walk, helping to raise thousands of pounds for  RNLI.

Whilst the rest of the world were enjoying a well earned bank holiday lie-in, the hardy bunch of walkers checked in at Alnmouth at 7.30 a.m. before being bussed up north of Bamburgh to start their epic journey south along the Northumberland Coast Path  (North Sea Trail).

With over 50% of participants from outside the region, what better way to show off this stunning coastline than a sunny day in May.

Feedback was brilliant with one participant saying 'The stunning scenery  was the thing that set this walk far above so many other walks I have done - the staff were without exception friendly, cheerful and supportive and really contributed positively to the enjoyment of the day'.

With the 7th May 2012 being set for next year's event and people already booking it is certainly one for the diary and it leaves plenty of time to get some training in.
