Ramblings on Radio 4

The BBC’s Clare Balding visited Northumberland to record a programme for the new series of ‘Ramblings’ on Radio 4 in May, joining Jon Monks from Shepherds Walks (www.shepherdswalks.co.uk) and the group he was taking out on one of his guided walks at Harbottle crags.

Jon Monks said: “We did get the odd funny look as we walked through Harbottle village with a large fluffy microphone between Clare and myself, and a lady walking behind us, holding this on a boom, while wearing headphones and carrying a recording machine. But with the sun shining it was a great day to showcase the wonderful walking that we have here in Northumberland.”

The programme aired on 2 June at 3.00pm on Radio 4. You can still hear it on ‘listen again’ now the show has been broadcast.
