Warkworth to Amble Nordic Walk
Thu 28th July 2016
A change to the published walk lead to confusion of the meeting point, apologies to everyone who got confused, but everyone arrived safe and sound.
Following a non Nordic walk the previous week, Sharon joined us after I had been telling her all about the Nuts. She fitted in well with the group who all made her welcome.
The weather was perfect, not too warm and no rain forecast until after 1 pm.
Steve and Russell were our only two "men" on the walk. Steve was wearing his pith helmet again, not to be outdone I donned my panama style hat, which didn't last long because it blew off on the beach.
A warm up was complete with introductions made, Anne had very kindly offered to be my honorary volunteer for the day.
We headed down the bank towards the beach, shoes/sandals were soon discarded by most of the group with others following suit once they had to walk through some small streams. I drew the customary Nordic Nuts heart with the date added.
We got to the black rocks and turned around and past the point which we started before heading back to the cars and cake.
We all headed to Bertrams in Warkworth where we started sitting outside until the rain which was forecast started.
Lots of food, tea and coffee was ordered and enjoyed. Steve and Russell were well behaved and didn't give the waitresses as much cheek as they usually do. Methinks Laura, Debbie and Ruth may be the bad influences.
Thank you everyone for coming along to this Nordic walk, I hope you enjoyed it.
Our next Nordic Walk is Bamburgh to Seahouses (8 miles) on 6th August.
I hope to see you there.
