Hobkirk Church (NT 587109). If you are travelling south down the A68 turn right after Jedburgh along the B6357 (signpost - Bonchester Bridge 6). Upon reaching the T-junction in Bonchester Bridge turn left then turn right (signpost – Hobkirk and Harwood). Continue along that road passing the school until you reach Hobkirk Church on your left - park outside.

This walk follows some beautiful quiet lanes around Bonchester Bridge before climbing up through some lovely farmland to the wonderful Bonchester Hill with an Iron Age fort crowning its summit. From here you are rewarded by some spectacular views.
Away to your east you have the rolling Cheviot Hills and to the north the three prominent peaks of the Eildon Hills. Also to the north you have the rocky summit of Rubers Law peak.
You then drop down to the village where you can stop for a much deserved drink in the Horse and Hound Inn, which dates back to 1701, before returning to your car.
The walk is good underfoot, but strong shoes are recommended.
