walk notes

During the walk we will look at the different farming types that take place in the valley, from the growing of grain, dairy farms, upland and hill farms. How do they all slot together in the character and type of landscape that we found around us?

From Rothbury we will climb up to the north from where we will get a brilliant overview of the valley so we look at the different farm types, before we drop down to Thropton, cross the Coquet and walk through some of the different farming types.

The walk will be led by Jon Monks, the Shepherd of Shepherds Walks, so a true insight into the farming will be given.
