walk notes

The Moss Troopers trail is a 20 mile (we are splitting into 2 x 10 mile stages) long distance trail that passes to the North of Hadrian's Wall. Described by the author, Mark Richards, as a route for dreamers, drovers, reivers and rogues.

For this the second section of the Moss Troopers Trail you will meet at Simonburn car park and then there will be a short transfer (included in the price) to Housesteads, for the start of the days walk.

This superb days walking treats you to some great views of the Whin Sill, which is to the south as you explore this untodden area with the Shepherds Walks guide.

After leaving Housesteads you will be guided to Greenlee Loch, to pick up The Moss Troopers Trail.

As the trail contues east it skirts along the south edge of Wark Forest and then through some stunning farmland to Simonburn.
