walk notes

The Cheviot is the highest point in Northumberland so is therefore a must for anybody who walks in the area.

This circular guided walk takes in two more summits, Cold Law and Broadhope Hill, both affording spectacular views from vantage points as we forge our way towards the summit of The Cheviot itself. Although the summit is a little disappointing, this is more than made up for with the return journey via Cairn Hill and then the delightful and picturesque descent from the source of the Harthope burn which is known for its birds, especially the Dipper.

This is a fantastic walk for the experienced walker and well worth the effort. Good footwear, waterproofs (even in summer!), and emergency rations are essential. Also as we will be crossing the burn in several places, you may find walking poles useful.
