walk notes

This is not just an ascent of the highest hill in the Cheviot Range the Cheviot itself but a walk which takes in dramatic views en route.

One of the attractions of this walk is that the height gain is made over several miles rather than in a short spurt. Once on the Pennine Way we will walk above the Hen Hole past Auchope Cairn and Cairn Hill to the Cheviot.

The views in all compass directions are spectacular. Leaving the summit of the Cheviot we will be well placed to see the beautifully defined saddle between Hedgehope Hill and Comb Fell before descending to Goldscleugh. A lovely valley walk then concludes the day.
