walk notes

This is a great Nordic Walk talking in Humbleton Hill which is the site of an ancient hill fort built about 300BC.  The other claim to fame for Humbleton Hill is the battle between the Scots lead by Archibald Earl of Douglas and the English by Harry ĎHotspurí Percy on 14th Sept. 1402, The Scots defeat was due to the firepower of the English archers.

From the summit you get great views both looking over Wooler to the valley bottom and over to the Cheviots in the opposite direction.

This lovely circular walk will offer us such great views with little effort, it is one of the best walks in the foothills of the Cheviots and with the return part of the walk being on St Cuthbertís Way it makes for a great days walking.
