Challenge yourself for HospiceCare-North Northumberland

Challenge yourself for HospiceCare-North Northumberland

Thu 28th March 2013

A local business has teamed up with a local charity to help raise funds to support their work in the local area.

On the 10th August North Northumberland Hospice will be the official charity for the 19 ½ mile St Cuthbert’s Way Challenge Walk and it is hoped that this will give many people the opportunity to raise some money for this great local cause.

The event is being run by Shepherds Walks and this is the second year that this truly challenging walk has taken place. Jon Monks, from Shepherds Walks, said ‘It is a privilege to work with a local charity for the St Cuthbert’s Way Challenge Walk. It is a great walk in its own right and gives people an opportunity to raise money for such a worthy cause, which is the icing on the cake’.

After checking in at Wooler, walkers will then be bussed over the border to Morebattle where they will start their epic journey, initially through the borders before climbing up over The Cheviots as participants follow the St Cuthbert’s Way back to Wooler.

HospiceCare North Northumberland is the main provider of palliative care caring for people with life-limiting illnesses, such as Cancer, Heart Failure, Lung Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Motor Neurone Disease and Parkinsons Disease, in North Northumberland, serving a population of 57,000 and delivering care and support to adults, their families and carers.  All services are confidential, free of charge, with access by self referral or via professionals.

So if you are looking for a challenge in 2013 and would like to raise some money for a great local charity please do book yourself on to the event and request a fundraising pack at the same time.

Thanks for supporting HCNN. I'm one of those lucky people who are supported by the wonderful team there. All being well maybe I could walk a bit of the way with you? Fantastic!!
