Real Northumberland Clothes for Real Northumberland Walkers
Fri 25th November 2011
A traditional Northumberland Mill has moved into the 21st century by opening their first online store, Otterburn Life.
The store sells a mixture of their own-brand clothing Otterburn Classics and other specialist outdoor attire from many of the UK’s leading brands.
Otterburn Life takes its name from Otterburn Mill, which was once a thriving woollen mill in the 18th century and was popular with people of Northumberland.
It was also a personal favourite of Queen Alexandra who requested bespoke tweed baby blankets for Princess Elizabeth which they still sell today.
Now, the mill has been transformed into luxury store where customers are able pick up a wide range of outdoor equipment and look at the ancient machinery that was once used to make clothes in the 18th Century.
They also have two other stores in Rothbury and North Yorkshire and all together they attract over 150,000 customers per year.
Nigel Owen, Director of Otterburn Mill, said: “We are excited to expand our operations onto the internet and we think it is about time the rest of the world is able to buy some of our beautiful clothes.
“We sell many quality items like joules sweatshirts and weird fish clothing and we particularly hope that our online customers will appreciate our own-brand, real Northumberland clothes.”
You can visit Otterburn Life in their new and innovative online store at www.otterburnlife.com and explore some of the outdoor clothing they offer.
