Some Christmas present ideas

Some Christmas present ideas

Thu 6th December 2012

Looking for a great Christmas present for a walker this year? Here are a few ideas from Shepherds Walks.

GPS Unit – Some great offers this Christmas.

By far the best offer around this Christmas is the £50.00 off any Garmin Oregon 450 or GPS Map62s GPS unit.

In all the years I have been selling Garmin GPS units I have never seen them reduce the top of the range units. So if you really want to buy someone a really special present this Christmas look no further. Click here to find out more about the Garmin Oregon 450 or GPS Map62s GPS units.

Gift Vouchers – you can’t go far wrong.

With a Shepherds Walks gift voucher you can’t go far wrong at Christmas time.

They can be used against products, guided walks, events or training courses. So if you would prefer the person to choose something for themselves just buy them a Shepherds Walks gift voucher. More information can be found here.

New online Ordnance Survey Mapping.

If you really want to impress someone who is a keen walker why not buy them the latest product on the block; OS ‘Get-a-map’ is the new online map application from Ordnance Survey.

The recipient will be able to create their own walking, cycling, and running routes and swap between views of OS Explorer maps, OS Landranger maps, satellite and new Zoom-map. For any keen walker this is a truly great piece of software, which is long overdue. More information and YouTube film can be found here.

Private guided walk.

Again if you really want to give a walker a truly special Christmas present look no further than a private guided walk. This gives the person a guided walk solely suited to their requirements. The Shepherds Walks guide will listen to what the recipient wants and tailor a guided walk solely for them and guide them along it.

From climbing the highest peak in Northumberland, The Cheviot, right through to a low level walk for a photographer who wants to be guided and capture some of the best views in Northumberland. More information can be found here.

The Shepherds Walks walking guides.

Shepherds Walks built their business on some of the best walking guides Northumberland has ever seen. Easy to follow and up to date it makes them an ideal present for that person who wants to guide themselves along some of the best walking routes Northumberland has to offer.

So why not buy a full set of self led walking guides for Northumberland, it will certainly keep the recipient busy for the first half of the year, with 26 self guided walks in the full set of walking guides for Northumberland. More information can be found here.

Navigational training.

Coming up to Christmas we sell lots of places on both our Map and Compass and GPS training days as presents.

It really gives the avid walker something to look forward to and put in their diary, but don’t worry if they are unable to make the course date you have booked for their present, we can easily exchange it for them at no extra cost.

It makes for a great experience that many independent walkers really appreciate; often a day spent with like minded walkers is a really enjoyable one but learning or improving their navigational skills makes for an even greater day. More info here about our courses.

Capricorn Mohair Socks.

No Christmas ideas would be complete without a pair of Capricorn Mohair Socks. The ‘Derbyshire’ and ‘Cumbria’ socks are the walking socks and they are second to none. As they are made from Mohair, which is a naturally straight fibre, any moisture passes through the sock. A fantastic property from a natural product making them the best walking socks you can buy. More info here.

I hope I have given you, the walker, a few ideas for Christmas presents and if you need any advice or have any questions about any of the walks, courses, events or products we sell please do not hesitate to get in touch. We are open 7 days a week and a friendly voice will answer the .phone and deal with any questions you may have.

Let’s hope we can make your Christmas shopping pain free in 2012.
