Walk 1 - Whitton Hillhead
This is one of the best medium length walks in Northumberland that starts with a nice gentle climb up to 212 metres (700 ft) at Whitton Hillhead where beautiful views of the Simonside Hills to the south and Thropton the the south can be seen. A superb walk that is not too strenious.

Walk 2 - Cragside Carriageway Drive
This is a superb example of some of the pleasant walks we have in Northumberland. It gives you beautiful views of Rothbury and the surrounding hills. The walk begins in Rothbury and follows the old carriageway of Cragside Estate, the famous home of Sir William Armstrong.

Walk 3 - Simonside
From Rothbury you climb up to what I think are some of the most breathtaking views of Northumberland, with the Cheviots away to the North and Fontburn Reservoir to the South. On a clear day the coast can clearly be followed. A superb walk.

Walk 5 - Lordenshaws Iron Age Hillfort
This is one of the walks in Northumberland that rewards you with some of the nicest views in Northumberland, in my opinion. The ridge between Dove crag and Simonside has some spectacular views on a clear day.

Walk 17 - Above Kielder Water
This is a delightful walk that follows the Lewis burn upstream away from Kielder water. It leaves the crowded areas of Kielder well behind as you gradually climb up through the forest to some undiscovered places of tranquillity, with just the trickle of the burn in the background for company. It is a great example of some of the great walks that we have in Northumberland.
