The GPSMAP 62s s takes recreational navigation to a new level. The units feature a bright 2.6-inch 65k colour LCD display with a built-in basemap and a high-sensitivity GPS receiver with HotFix®. This model boast unparalleled reception with a quad helix antenna, are waterproof, a worldwide basemap with shaded relief and support paperless geocaching.

In addition to the standard feature the 62s version adds a 3-axis compass, a barometric altimeter and a built-in microSD™ card slot for loading additional maps.

It also offers wireless route, waypoint, and geocache sharing with other compatible units.

This unit also supports Garmin Custom Maps and BirdsEye™ Satellite Imagery. Garmin Custom Maps allows you to easily transform paper and electronic maps into free, downloadable maps for your compatible Garmin GPS. BirdsEye Satellite Imagery is a subscription based service that allows you to see aerial views of your destination.
