Walk 50 - The High Stile Horseshoe

This spectacular walk takes in the wonderful ridge that runs to the West of Buttermere and Crummock Water.

There are many superb walks in the Lake District, but this is one of the best.

Walk 51 - Cat Bells

This lovely walk rewards you with some spectacular views of both Derwent Water and Bassenthwaite Lake, with the mountain of Skiddaw standing proudly to the North.

Walk 52 - Latterbarrow

This superb walk discovers the quiet area of Claife Heights. Get away from the crowds that swarm around Windermere and stride out along its West shore. One of my favorite medium length walks in the Lake District.

Walk 53 - Brant Fell

This wonderful short walk visits three popular viewpoints situated high above Bowness-on-Windermere. Each of these reward you with spectacular views of the lake down below.

Walk 54 - Rydal Water

This short walk explores Wordsworth’s country. Wordsworth lived at the bottom end of Rydal Water at Rydal Mount.A lovely area of the Lake District.

Walk 55 - Around Alston

This walk takes in the lovely area to the South of Alston, Cumbria. You start off by following the River South Tyne, before climbing up on to the lower ground of Alston Moor. From here you are treated to some spectacular views of both the higher ground all around you and the river down below.

Walk 56 - Ullswater

This walk explores the wonderful scenery around Ullswater before climbing up a little where you are treated to some spectacular views of this famous ‘serpentine’ shaped lake, which makes Ullswater so appealing.

Walk 57 - Maiden Castle

This walk explores the lovely countryside around Maiden Castle, which stands high above Ullswater. A lovely walk that gets you well away from the crowds.

Walk 58 - High Street, from Haweswater

High Street is one of my favourite walks in the Lake District. From Haweswater you have a steep, but spectacular ridge climb to the summit of High Street where you are treated to some lovely views of Blea Water, Mardale Head and Haweswater.

Walk 59 - Shap Abbey

This wonderful short walk explores, in my opinion, one of the undiscovered treasures in Cumbria, Shap Abbey. Get away from the crowds of the Lake District with this real gem of a walk.

Walk 60 - Ruskins View, Kirkby Lonsdale

This delightful short walk starts off at the spectacular Devil’s Bridge, before you follow the picturesque River Lune. A lovely part of Cumbria.

Walk 61 - Barbondale

This wonderful walk discovers the picturesque area of Barbodale with its woodland walk following the Barbon Beck through the Barbon Manor estate, famous for the motorcycle hill climb, amongst other things. A lovely area to walk in Cumbria.

Walk 62 - The Pillar Horseshoe

This difficult route discovers some of the true high peaks in the Lake District. After a gentle start to the walk you climb steeply up from Ennerdale Water through some rough ground as you ascend up to Tewit How. One of the lovely walks in the west of the Lake District.

Walk 63 - Ennerdale Water

Ennerdale Water is as far as you get off the beaten track in the western fells and valleys, as you will find. Having made the effort you will find it one of the most alluring of the lakes with it’s quiet two and a half-mile length lined by crags and dominated at the head by the dramatic height of the mountain Pillar.

Walk 64 - Great Asby Scar

This lovely varied walk explores the spectacular scenery to the north of the picturesque village of Orton. One of the less known walks in Cumbria, but it passes through some stunning landscape.
