walk summary

This wonderful short walk visits three popular viewpoints situated high above Bowness-on-Windermere. Each of these reward you with spectacular views of the lake down below.

This walk is very popular with the local residents of Bowness, who get away from the crowds in the town below, in order to appreciate this beautiful part of the Lake District.

The climax of the walk is ‘Brant Fell’, where the remains of a Victorian viewing station can still be seen. From here you are treated to some spectacular views and this is all achieved after only a small amount of climbing.

It is amazing how quickly you can get away from the crowds in the Lake District on this walk as you climb up above Bowness on Windermere. One of the great walks that can be found in the Lake District.

The walk is good under foot, but strong shoes are recommended.

shepherd's notes
