Walk 102 - The Cheviot Hills

First this walk follows the valley floor before a gradual climb that becomes steeper as you rise up to the Border fence, which you follow. This section of the walk treats you with some magnificent views as you cross the spectacular summits of Black Hag and White Law.

Explore the wonderful Cheviot Hills, but from the Scottish side.

This walk starts off by following the Halter Burn as it winds itís way up the valley floor, with the mountaintops towering each side of you.

You leave the valley floor in a gradual climb that becomes steeper as you rise up to the Border fence, which you follow. This section of the walk treats you with some magnificent views as you cross the spectacular summits of Black Hag and White Law. You will feel on top of the world and will take home the memories of some of the most spectacular views in the Border region.

On returning home you follow the last section of the Pennine Way and maybe meet a few weary walkers who have completed this long distance path.

shepherd's notes

One of my favourite walks in the Scottish Borders. It is a very short walk in until you are in the heart of the Cheviots walking the border ridge.
