Trig points are markers used in geodetic surveying to establish accurate positions and elevations on maps. They played a crucial role in the development of mapping and surveying techniques in the past, even though their significance has declined in the era of modern technology.

This week the all-new ‘Cheviot Round’ has been launched.
It is a 52-mile ultra-route which climbs 8,500 feet passing through the heart of the Cheviot Hills.
This is a self-led challenge route for both walkers and fell runners.
