In December 1914, early in WW1, volunteer soldiers of the Northumberland Fusiliers went to the moors above Rothbury to prepare for trench warfare in France, constructing a complex network of practice trenches.

12 Week Training Plan for Challenge Walk
This short training plan has been put together to act as a guideline to prepare for any of our challenge walks. The more you train the less likely you are to experience pain or injuries on the event. The idea is to work your way up gradually, increasing your activity each week and giving your body time to recover and re-energize between workouts.
Young People - Getting Out and Enjoying the Countryside
